Pence Elementary Bike Safety Rodeo

The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual week long Bike Safety and Rodeo event at Pence Elementary After School Program in Fairfield, Iowa. This program is designed to teach children essential bicycle safety skills through interactive activities. Each child engages in various stations that cover topics such as hand signals, road signs, and the rules of the road. The week-long event culminates with a fun obstacle course, where students practiced starting, stopping, and turning. Thanks to sponsors like AERON Lifestyle Technology and The Ride Bike Shop, the program is free for all children. Additionally, Blank Children's Hospital donates helmets, ensuring all students have properly fitted helmets. The week concludes with a graduation ceremony and popsicles at the playground shelter where two bikes donated by The Ride Bike shop are raffled off to two graduating children.
